Chapter 21
In this chapter something that I learned was that communism is going up and down from to today but it started in 1917. This chapter was really helpful to me because I struggle with remembering the dates of things with the event that happened that go with them. Karl Marx played big role in the bringing about of Communism. Karl Marx is the one who gave this idea a real meaning when he wrote his own Communist Manifesto in 1818. Another thing was that Communism was spoken of the behalf of and represented all over the world by the Soviet Communist International. Also Vladimir Lenin had a part in this, to when he gave his socialist party the name of "Russian Communist". The Tsar was revolted against by Russia in 1917. Another big part of this chapter was that the Chinese Communist Part was originated in 1921 by some people but most importantly by Mao Zedong. These people traveled over 6,000 miles to escape from the Guomindang government and Chiang Kai-shek. Thee peoples that were trying to escape destination was where they battled against the Japanese in World War 2 which was the mountains that were in northern china. Chiang Kai-shek gave his ground and pulled back to Taiwan after he was beaten by the Chinese Communist Party during there civil war that when from the years 1945-1949. Many of the countries were divided up after this which resulted in the division being China and all of their allies and the United States and all of their allies and then not until about 40 years after World War 2 did Europe begin to divide.
